I first became involved with In Line Safety in 2004 when it became a limited company within its own rights. I was then director of Survey Roofing and the now ‘In Line Safety’ was our in-house Health and Safety department. I soon realised the ever-increasing demand for Health and Safety services across all industries was something I wanted to be a part of, and so took a very proactive role in developing our new venture.
Over several years, myself and the team grew In Line Safety to become a viable standalone business, to a point where in 2013 I led a ‘management buyout’ to purchase the business. Myself and two other board members were successful in taking over the company, and setting up all new management structures and methods of working. Since that time, we have grown the In Line Safety brand, client base, turnover and members of staff to nearly twice that of 2013. We also relocated the business to our current registered offices at Moor Hall, East Grinstead.
Prior to In Line Safety, I had joined the management team of Survey Roofing Ltd in 1999.
I spent 15 years with this national roofing organisation becoming a shareholding board member. Between the three key directors we grew the business fivefold and placed within the top 25 roofing companies within the UK.
I gained huge experience in running a business and all that that entails, including business development, accounting, running the fleet, recruitment, corporate image and branding to name but a few of the key areas.
I started my career as an apprentice Mechanical Engineer and qualified in 1988. I spent my first five years after qualifying, designing and manufacturing control valves for the medical industries.
I was then approached by Vickers Medical to join their marketing team to promote there range of Neonatal products and then subsequently progressed and joined the market leader in Cardiology monitoring, Marquette Electronics Inc.
After 10 years in this fascinating industry I was approached by a friend to join Survey Roofing, and so in 1999, I joined their Management team.
When I am not working within the business, I live on a dairy farm with my wife Claire and like the rural life. I also enjoy scuba diving, sailing, clay pigeon shooting, restoring and renovating vehicles and houses. I also organise musical firework displays, for celebrations and of course November 5th.
